JMBEC Publishes “MJBE”, a Guide to Japanese Business Etiquette for Malaysians, and Launches Collaboration YouTube Channel with Popular YouTuber “iChang RM”

JM Business Ethics Consultancy Sdn. Bhd. (hereinafter referred to as “JMBEC”) is pleased to announce the publication of “The Malaysian’s Guide to Japanese Business Etiquette” (hereinafter referred to as “MJBE”), a textbook designed to help Malaysians build strong business etiquette, together with the launch of a new collaboration YouTube channel with popular local YouTuber “iChang RM”. Both initiatives were announced during a presentation by JMBEC Director Isrami Bin Ismail and iChang RM at Japan Expo Malaysia 2026, held from 24 to 26 July 2026 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC).

In October 2023, JMBEC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Alumni Look East Policy Society (hereinafter referred to as “ALEPS”) to establish a strategic partnership, and in November 2023 launched the Malaysia Business Ethics Book Production Committee (hereinafter referred to as the “Committee”). MJBE is the textbook that JMBEC has now completed through discussions within the Committee.

MJBE is not designed to teach Malaysians how to interact specifically with Japanese companies or Japanese people. Rather, its purpose is to help improve business etiquette among Malaysians as a whole. While the content is based on Japanese business manners, JMBEC has excluded items that are unfamiliar or unnecessary in the Malaysian context, so that only the manners genuinely useful in Malaysian workplaces are included. MJBE is not designed to test Japanese language skills; it is written in clear, accessible English and can be understood without any prior knowledge of Japanese language or culture. Through practical examples, illustrations, columns, and practice questions, learners can build the mindset and habits useful in any Malaysian workplace, covering topics such as Ho-Ren-So (Report, Inform, Consult), meeting and online-meeting etiquette, business writing and digital communication manners, the PDCA cycle, information security, and teamwork. MJBE is designed for a wide range of learners, from students to young professionals and employees, and JMBEC also plans to offer it for corporate training and employee education programs.

To bring the content of MJBE to more young people and professionals in Malaysia, JMBEC has launched a new collaboration YouTube channel with popular local YouTuber “iChang RM”. Building on this announcement at Japan Expo Malaysia 2026, JMBEC will continue this collaboration with iChang RM on an ongoing basis. Each video will introduce one business etiquette topic from MJBE, explained in an easy-to-understand format, with new content released regularly.

JMBEC Director Isrami Bin Ismail commented, “MJBE was created to help everyone working in Malaysia improve their business etiquette. Because it carefully selects only the Japanese business manners that are genuinely useful in Malaysia, it can be applied with confidence in any workplace, not only at Japanese companies.” JMBEC Board Member Noritaka Araki added, “Our collaboration with iChang RM is not a one-time initiative — we plan to continue it going forward. We are excited to introduce business etiquette topics one by one through video and create an opportunity for more people to learn in an enjoyable way.”

Going forward, JMBEC plans to develop a certification exam based on the content of MJBE, as well as offer it as a corporate training program. JMBEC aims to build a framework that allows companies in Malaysia to use MJBE as part of employee education and talent development.
